Mercy Whip are crafting heavy, metallic hardcore that it set to make your spine chill. The Connecticut band debuted in 2024 with their crushing album And To Dust All Return and follow it up today with the release of GEHENNA EP on Static Era Records. Mixed, mastered, and produced by Isaac Civitello, the five tracks are packed with aggression and despair. Guttural vocals combine with furious blast beats and thick riffs to create a dark and chaotic energy.
On the driving force behind the EP, guitarist Diego shares:
“‘Gehenna’ is a biblical term often used as a metaphor for Hell or purgatory, originally referring to the Valley of Hinnom in Jerusalem. A historical place associated with ritual sacrifice and later with burning waste, which gave it a reputation as something cursed and desolate.
For us, Gehenna represents what happens when life drifts toward corruption, shame, and destructive consequences. The record explores themes of morality and causality and how evil moves through humanity in different forms, whether through religious indoctrination, social parasites, or the violent act of reinventing yourself when everything else fails.”
