Fallfiftyfeet take you “south of heaven, but north of hell” on new single “Purgatory Blues” out today. The metalcore trio have unleashed an all out frenzy with buzzing riffs, crushing hardcore vocals, and an instrumental technicality to be revered. The band experiments with industrial leaning rhythms and alternative rock influenced clean vocals that make a for a progressive track. The songs follows January single “Running from the Sky,” giving an indication to the full sound fallfiftyfeet has budding this year. You can watch the striking video for “Purgatory Blues,” directed by Eric DiCarlo, HERE and stream the track HERE.
On “Purgatory Blues,” lead vocalist Dave Wallace shares:
“I basically wrote this song from the perspective of someone trapped in a horror movie. You could take it a couple different ways though, I think it relates to my anxiety as well. The lyrics are pretty straight forward in painting a picture of someone kind of trapped in a certain situation with no way out.”
Fallfiftyfeet has also announced a ten date Spring tour kicking off March 28th in Indianapolis, IN. Full routing below.
Forming a friendship over Tumblr as teens in the 2010s, Dave Wallace (vocals) and James Becca (vocals, guitars) eventually met in real life and would go on to form fallfiftyfeet in 2020, debuting with their album Twisted World Perspective in 2021. In 2022 the band released the three song EP, Lonely If You Go, garnering praise from BrooklynVegan, Distorted Sound, and Mathcore Index, and later followed up by a 2024 split with Wounded Touch. fallyfiftyfeet’s do-it-yourself ethic has found them playing shows across lesser known cities in the US, while also sharing stages with the likes of Underoath and Seeyouspacecowboy. 2025 will be fallfiftyfeet’s biggest year yet with more music and touring on the way.
