Mensdom, an emerging force in the Afrikaans rock scene, proudly unveil the second single and companion video, ‘Bid Vir My’, from their forthcoming debut album ‘Bonatuurlik’.
Building on the warm reception of their first single and video, ‘Skaapgenade’, this paves the way for the eagerly anticipated full-length album due on Friday 18 July.
Since bursting onto the South African music scene in 2018, Mensdom have carved out a unique niche by blending unflinching storytelling with stadium-sized rock dynamics. The quartet – whose current line-up comprises Linus Ungerer (vocals), David Francis (guitar), Dirk Francis (bass) and Anthony Panayotou (drums) – draws on lyrical honesty to create songs that feel both intimately vulnerable and epic in scale.
‘Bid Vir My’ immerses listeners in the stillness of midnight, evoking universal anxieties about life’s fragility and the great unknown. Over a brooding riff, Ungerer delivers a heartfelt appeal for comfort and understanding.
