Members of Faith No More, Stone Sour, Lagwagon & Trash N Privilege have formed supergroup Dirty O Keeffe

Dirty O’Keeffe have dropped their debut EP Heavy Water.

Members of Lagwagon, Faith No More, Trash n Privilege & Stone Sour drill down on a fist-pumping blend of metallic hard rock and melodic punk, with the new album offering a nostalgic flavour of the 90s and early 00s.

Led by Dave Raun (Lagwagon), the gilt-edged supergroup released their first single, “Brick or Bullet”, in 2020. 5 years later, joined again by Steven Shepherd, Billy Gould & Christian Martucci, the co-operative are back with a 4-track EP.

Explaining their return to the studio, Raun shares: “Having had played with all these guys separately before, I was really excited about us all being a part of the same project. We just made music we wanted to make with zero pressure or expectation and lots of laughs. Everybody just brought their thing to the table and it’s a perfect blend. So much so we came back for more.”

For Gould it was about the people and the experience: “I’m so glad Dave called me to be a part of this. I had a great time working with everyone. There was no overthinking and no agenda… just friends making noise. I loved every minute of it. A great bunch of guys who went into this with genuine enthusiasm. What’s not to like?!”

Originally formed as a creative outlet to blow away the cobwebs of the pandemic, Dirty O’Keeffe, the brainchild of Lagwagon’s Dave Raun, soon evolved into something more significant.

Partnering with friends Christian Martucci (Stone Sour), Billy Gould (Faith No More) & Steve Shepard (Trash n Privilege) the four set about bringing the joy back to making music, during what had been a challenging period for all parties.

The band’s initial output, “Brick or Bullet”, set the tone for their chemistry on record and camaraderie in the studio. What was intended to be a one-track partnership – to draw attention to the hard working crews impacted by the pandemic – would ultimately blossom into their new, debut EP, Heavy Water five years later.

The Dirty O’Keeffe sound is gritty and potent, with mesmerizing riffs and Martucci’s compelling vocal making for a cultured collation of weighty alternative rock, raw punk edges and searing melodies.

Dirty O Keeffe is:

Christian Martucci (guitar, vocals), Dave Raun (drums), Billy Gould (bass), Steve Shepard (guitar).
