Today, electronic group MEDUZA release the official music video for their latest single ‘Phone’, with Sam Tompkins & Em Beihold, lifted from MEDUZA’s self-titled double-sided EP, out now via The Cross/Island Records.
Shot through the highrises and countrysides of Singapore and directed by Oliver Jennings, the cinematic visuals follow the well-loved MEDUZA theme of both sweeping landscapes and intimate aesthetics that echo the emotional pull of the music. In the ‘Phone’ video, this aesthetic follows a couple struggling to work out the complexities of their relationship.
The new music video follows some of MEDUZA’s biggest live shows to date, notably a headline set at studio 338 – their biggest London show to date. They also took their hugely successful Ibizan residency ‘Our House’ on the road for an Amsterdam Dance Event edition, playing alongside British DJ/producer James Hype.
‘Phone’ is lifted from their new EP, which presents two sides of MEDUZA’s versatility. Room 1 is made up of their most commercially celebrated records, such as ‘Piece Of Your Heart’ Ft Goodboys (peaked at #2 on UK single charts) ‘Lose Control’ Ft Becky Hill, ‘Paradise’ Ft Dermot Kennedy and ‘Tell It To My Heart’ Ft Hozier.
Room 2 leans on their love for darker, more underground house music, expanding their deep-rooted sonic scape to trance, tech and 90s-inspired rave.
The new EP once again proves, the italian trio continue to be the benchmark for dance music, globally.
