Venerate Industries is proud to announce the signing of Mavro Gala, a screamo/post-hardcore trio from Athens, Greece for the release of the band’s fourth album “Tenderness”, due out on October 27th.

Borrowing its name from Paul Celan’s poem “Death Fugue”, which is about his experience in a concentration camp during World War II, Mavro Gala (Black Milk) have been heavily involved in the DIY scene of Athens since forming in 2015. They have toured extensively in Greece and twice in Europe having opened up for Unsane and Deaf Kids among others, and have released one EP, one-split album and three full-length albums to date.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by George Christoforidis in Ignite Studios, “Tenderness”, their first release for Venerate Industries, is an album centered around the themes of bodies worn down by work, finding solidarity with each other through getting older and more vulnerable and getting alienated by watching your city being sucked in a post-gentrification nightmare. Pre-orders are now available at this location.

Meanwhile, a music video for leading single “Sundays” has premiered at Idioteq, who had this to say about the band “This screamo/post-hardcore group navigates the tumultuous waters of life, post-financial crisis in Greece, using their music as a dissonant scream against the cacophony of systemic burdens.”
