NASHVILLE, TN (April 14, 2023) – Newcomer Mackenzie Carpenter offers sass, vulnerability and “girl’s girl” advice on her self-titled debut(Mackenzie Carpenter) available today via The Valory Music Co. The collection is an accumulation of the first tracks the young talent ever created (long before she had a plan or team in place) and draws its name from the independent and unfiltered spirit of its formation and offers five personality-driven songs that offer a window into the heart of the cheeky yet nuanced songwriter. Whether delivering a humbling confession or unwanted advice, the Georgia native isn’t shying away from the truth, even if it’s a little unpolished.

“I think we all have those days where we wish we had it a little more together but all in all, I am really proud of who I am and where I come from. I hope listening to these songs, people are reminded that it’s okay to be a little tacky and say what is on your heart, even if ‘you’re not supposed to,’” shared Mackenzie. “I think there is a freedom in tossing out the expectations—that is kind of how this entire project came together—and what an incredible learning experience it was. I can’t wait for people to really dive in.”
Having already released the SiriusXM Highway find, “Can’t Nobody,” TikTok viral, “Huntin’ Season,” vulnerable “Jesus I’m Jealous,” and anthemic, “Don’t Mess With Exes,” today’s release of “Throw You Back” and its accompanying music video officially completes Mackenzie Carpenter. Written by Carpenter alongside her brother Micah Carpenter and Ben Williams, “Throw You Back” takes the perfect measurement of attitude and amusement from past tracks and adds a sprinkle of serotonin. Carpenter helps her gals kick the man to the curb yet again, reminding him that he’s no more than a beer she’d pour out or a fish she’d throw back.
To celebrate the release, today at 11:30am CT Carpenter will premiere “Introducing Mackenzie Carpenter (The Short Film),” which ties each of the videos from the collection together. Tune in to watch and join in on the Q&A HERE. Each video was filmed in her hometown of Hull, GA, which is a deep source of inspiration for the outspoken girl-next-door who was raised on a rowdy support system, back porch hootenannies and juicy small-town drama.
Now signed to The Valory Music Co., the 23-year-old is recognized in Country music as an “artist to watch,” having already written a No. 1 hit and been included in several spotlight programs including the CMT Next Women of Country class of 2023. Mackenzie recently wrapped Danielle Bradbery’s tour and is gearing up to hit the road again with Conner Smith, having already opened for Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen, Parker McCollum, Craig Campbell, and Ryan Hurd. This summer, she’ll take the stage at incredible events like CMA Fest, Country Thunder, Tortuga Music Festival, Stagecoach and is also scheduled to make her Grand Ole Opry debut in June. ABOUT MACKENZIE CARPENTER: Hailing from the small town of Hull, GA, Mackenzie Carpenter is the spunky blonde girl-next-door that fell in love with music as a kid, writing alongside her brothers and singing in church. Years later, the outspoken singer-songwriter is breaking the mold for small-town women by writing and singing her truth, armed with the knowledge that everyone has a little bit of “hot mess” in them, no matter how shiny the book cover may seem. With an upbringing consisting of a rowdy support system, back porch hootenannies and juicy drama that feeds any plot, the affable and kind Carpenter also embraces the crazy and “tacky” aspects that make life more interesting. Fans are loving SiriusXM Highway find, “Can’t Nobody,” TikTok viral, “Huntin’ Season,” vulnerable “Jesus I’m Jealous” and her latest girl’s girl anthem, “Don’t Mess With Exes.” Now, Mackenzie is adding new tune “Throw You Back” to the mix on her self-titled debut EP, set to release on April 14th, putting her cheeky yet nuanced songwriting ability on full display across the five songs. Since signing her first record deal with The Valory Music Co. last year, Mackenzie is recognized in Country music as an artist to watch, being included in several spotlight programs including the CMT Next Women of Country class of 2023. Mackenzie recently wrapped Danielle Bradbery’s tour and is gearing up to hit the road again with Conner Smith, having already opened for Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen, Parker McCollum, Craig Campbell, and Ryan Hurd.
