Dirt Flirt – the project from London-based multi-instrumentalist Kit Eaton-Kent – has released an addictive new single ‘focus on u’, which delves into those feelings of infatuation that can come around falling for someone.
Kit says that the shimmering earworm “explores obsession and devotion, and how when you fall for someone it can feel like they’re the only other person in the world.”
The release comes alongside the announcement of a brand new Dirt Flirt EP titled ‘scorpio fever’, which will be released 22nd May via Final Girl Records. The 5-track collection reveals a darker side to Dirt Flirt and is a concept-driven project rooted in vulnerability and obsession. The EP explores how those emotions can shift and transform, moving from secrecy and intensity to honesty and release.
The record opens in a dark, mysterious space, where feelings are hidden behind haunting synths and pumping basslines. With each track, those layers peel back, sonically and lyrically evolving to expose what is actually underneath. The EP mirrors the stages of a relationship — from secretive beginnings and obsessive highs to the ultimate emotional fallout. The project’s strength lies in its duality: dark yet danceable, emotional yet playful.
A self-proclaimed pop enthusiast and “ex-emo,” Kit’s alt-pop sound has a vulnerable edge, often exploring queer themes through catchy hooks and introspective lyricism, drawing comparisons to artists like The Japanese House and 070 Shake. She’s been making a name for Dirt Flirt, charming audiences with her unmistakable stage presence, and growing a devoted online community of misfit pop fans.
Final Girl Records is an independent, women-led label and collective based in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. They focus on creating safer spaces, equity, and anti-racist action for women, trans, and non-binary artists in the music industry.
