Laurence Jones Releases Lead Single ‘On My Own’ from Forthcoming Album.
Award-winning guitarist and songwriter Laurence Jones releases the first single from his forthcoming solo album On My Own, set for release on January 23rd, 2026. The title track, now available across all digital platforms, marks a deeply personal new chapter in his career.
The record was born out of Jones’ recent health struggles and reflects a return to his roots, stripped back to the music that first inspired him.
“This album came out of one of the hardest times of my life,” says Jones. “I was exhausted, in pain, and had lost a lot of weight due to Crohn’s disease. Picking up my guitar became my only release. Playing and writing the blues was the one way I could truly express what I was going through. On My Own became not just a song, but a lifeline.”
The raw emotion behind the title track became the cornerstone for the entire album. Jones explains “I hit rock bottom with my health and couldn’t even leave the house for months. But out of that darkness came some of the most honest music I’ve ever written. Sharing this journey has brought me closer to my fans, and I hope the songs can give comfort to anyone fighting their own battles.”
Jones will be embarking on a very special debut solo album tour kicking off in January 2026. Laurence says ‘I’ve waited 15 years to bring it back home to the blues music and pay homage to the music I love. I feel these are some of the best songs I’ve written, you can’t hide behind just one guitar and a vocal. I’m excited to push my musical boundaries as I first started on the classical guitar when I was just 8 years old. I’ve always wanted to get back up on the stage on my own and combine my experience of the blues with the classical guitar training.”
Despite his health challenges, Laurence Jones has already carved out a remarkable career. He’s topped the Official UK Jazz & Blues Chart, been voted among the Top 10 Blues Rock Guitarists in the World by MusicRadar, supported legends including Sir Ringo Starr, Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, and Status Quo, sold over 50,000 albums worldwide, and been inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame.
With On My Own, Jones is less focused on accolades and more on creating something timeless, stripped down, heartfelt songs that carry the weight of lived experience.
