UK headline tour in September following stunning Download and RADAR Festival appearances

Oxfordshire post-hardcore quintet LASTELLE have released a further preview of their forthcoming EP ‘Exist – vol ii’, which is set for release 12th September via YOU RANG? RECORDS. The new track ‘The Silence Hurts The Most II’ is a sequel to ‘The Silence Hurts The Most’, from 2019’s ‘Harrow’ EP and is available to stream now, with a live session video of the track also released.

“Ever since the conception of Silence part 1, on our first EP, there was always a possibility of revisiting this story,” says guitarist Jonjo Williams of the affecting cut. “It is a song driven by the same narrative as part 1, but it follows a different character’s perspective during/after the car crash. We wrote the instrumental and discussed where it felt each “scene” of the narrative would start and end and then built the lyrics around that, tying in repeating themes from part 1.”

LASTELLE follow up their stunning appearances at RADAR and Download Festivals summer (which saw TWO fan marriage proposals) with a UK headline tour in September, the Derby date of which is already sold out. Tickets for all other shows on sale now; see below for details. Bassist, vocalist and brass player Freddie Whatmore says “This September we’re inviting fans to Exist with us across the UK, in celebration of the release of vol. ii. These songs mean the world to us, and by bringing them to the stage, we’re thrilled to be able to share the emotion and energy with everyone in those rooms with us”

These freshly-announced shows will be one of the first chances to see the band perform epic new tracks from their forthcoming EP. The collection includes previous singles ‘Tired Eyes’ and ‘Bitter Seeds’, which achieved placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday and the Kerrang! Chart, as well as spins on BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock and Kerrang! Radio. Whatmore says of the track: “Bitter Seeds was born out of the frustration caused by one-way, parasitic relationships. This song explores the idea that “misery grows company”; how toxic feelings and traits are infectious and, if left unchecked, can leave you bitter, resentful, and cynical.”

LASTELLE are adept in confronting the emotionally uncomfortable. Writing about struggles with neurodivergence, loss, and expressing yourself with vulnerable emotion, they are the absolute antithesis of toxic masculinity. Approaching classic post-hardcore sounds with their personal ideas and twists, their music has drawn comparisons with the likes of Holding Absence and Underoath.
