Larcenia Roe drops controversial new single/video “Sandy Cheeks” + prepares to kick-off North American tour with Angel Maker, Ingested later this week

Today (July 28th), Raleigh, North Carolina’s Larcenia Roe are back with a new standalone single via Unique Leader Records: “Sandy Cheeks”. The latest from the horror-deathcore outfit, who released their full-length debut last year to critical acclaim, “‘Sandy Cheeks’ questions the United States’ defense spending on foreign conflict,” comments Larcenia Roe. “Since 2001, the U.S. has spent roughly $8 trillion on post-9/11 wars and related costs. Since 2022, Congress has also committed hundreds of billions of dollars to overseas military assistance, security support, and military operations tied to conflicts abroad. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has never passed a full financial audit, and the national debt has climbed to more than $39 trillion.”

Since their inception in 2023, deathcore outfit Larcenia Roe have captured listeners’ attention with their twisted imagery, jump scare structure, and breakthrough vocal performances. Their debut EP, Dereliction (2024), garnered high praise and coverage by influencers, SubReddits, and social media outlets alike. In less than a year from their nativity, LR signed with Unique Leader Records, cementing their way into being one of the fastest growing bands in extreme metal.

Though the group holds many comparisons to other extreme sounds in the genre, their unique taste has simply been described as “different”. This distinction generated much hype for their first full-length, Extraction, released last year with media hailing the record as a “sonic freak show” (New Transcendence). With features from Vulvodynia, Filth, and Alex Koehler, Extraction evolves from their debut EP, bringing in sounds from multiple extreme subgenres seasoned with their signature touch. As Blabbermouth writes, “If deathcore is a competitive sport, then these sick fucks are winning.”
