June 21st was Midsummer’s Day, the day of the summer solstice and therefore the longest day of the year. Perfect for the release of the new Lacrimas Profundere song “Shimmering”, as the song is very reminiscent of the former headlining tour through Finland at the time of the midnight sun.
With borrowings from the glorious eighties gothic era paired with modern, hooky songwriting and the powerful production of the Kohlekeller Studios, the album brings back memories of their successful album “Filthy Notes For Frozen Hearts” released in 2006. Back to the days of MTV, when Bam Margera played these songs over and over again and even named his record label “Filthy Note“ after the name of the album.
“Shimmering” is a homage to the past and to the skyline of a city like LA, painting a fascinating, shimmering mirage of light and broken whiskey glasses in front of the Rainbow Bar and Grill.
“Shimmering” is also the gothic summer song for long party nights and at the same time the first single from the new album to be released in mid 2025 via SPV/Steamhammer.
The band is currently on a big festival tour before heading back into the studio to finish the new album. Buying a ticket is a must for every Goth Rock enthusiast – and beyond – and “Shimmering” will of course not be missed.
