Anthemic Lead Song “Levee” Garners Early Acclaim From Billboard, Music Row, Whiskey Riff and More

NASHVILLE, TN. – Today, multi-platinum singer/songwriter Kip Moore announces his new album Reason To Believe will be released on May 29th. His second full-length in two years, Reason To Believe makes good on Moore’s promise to release more music than ever before after signing his new global partnership with Virgin Music Group. The album’s first song “Levee” is out now, an anthemic, guitar-slinging banger built for the fast lane, co-produced by Moore alongside Andrew DeRoberts (Stephen Wilson Jr., Tate McRae, Zac Brown Band) and featuring guest vocals by Hillary Lindsey, who also co-wrote another song on the new LP. The track garnered widespread acclaim from press including Music Row, Billboard, Whiskey Riff who called it “a winner all-around” and All Country News who said, “It’s loud, restless, and unapologetically raw, the musical equivalent of rolling the windows down and letting the night air take over.”
“I felt like I was describing more of who I am as a human” shares Moore on Reason To Believe. “This album is my daily thoughts. In here,” he adds, while tapping his chest. “It’s an ‘in here’ kind of thing.”
On the record, Moore sings about grief, faith and the weight of time, documenting a man standing still long enough to hear himself think. While recording the album, Moore lost his mentor, champion, first producer and songwriter Brett James. He even named the album after a song James loved that Moore wrote years ago alongside longtime collaborator Dan Couch and Scott Stepakoff.
Moore produced the entirety of the album with DeRoberts, marking the first time he worked with the lauded producer. DeRoberts brought a sonic philosophy Moore hadn’t explored as deeply before: space over volume. The process pushed Moore into a place where he let passion and familiarity guide him, as he did in his early career working alongside James. The result is an album that feels career-spanning with upbeat rockers meant for the crowd, vulnerable meditations on hardship meant for quiet and other songs that are meant to be lifelines by giving the listener a sense of comfort.
Moore will take the album on the road this year on the Reason To Believe World Tour, where he’ll headline stadiums and arenas across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, US, and the UK, as well as a return to South Africa, where he has opened up the door to country music, playing for crowds of over 40,000 fans. He’s also playing a run of shows with Cody Johnson over the next couple months before heading out on another co-headline tour with Billy Currington.
