RELEASE NEW ALBUM
‘LIVE FROM DUBLIN’
RECORDED DURING THE FIRST OF TWO SOLD OUT SHOWS AT
3OLYMPIA THEATRE, IRELAND
July 19th 2024: Rising Irish indie-folk band Kingfishr have today released ‘Live From Dublin’. The 11 track live album was recorded on the 21st of March this year, when the trio played the first of two sold out shows at the 3Olympia Theatre in Ireland. Formats available include signed Black Vinyl, Signed Coloured Vinyl and Signed CD. Listen here. Buy here.
Speaking on the album release, the band said: “The 3Olympia Theatre was the venue we targeted from day one, it’s iconic in Ireland and for any Irish artist it’s the dream. Whether it took us 2 years or 20, we wanted to headline it and when that opportunity arose in little over a year it was hard to believe. Those gigs were so important to us and we needed something to remember them, something we could look at and be proud of how far we had come. The idea to record them for a live album came from that sentiment, it’s a landmark moment in this journey we’re on and we’re really excited to be able to share that with everyone.”
The Prologue Tour saw the trio play eight sold out headline shows across the UK and Ireland earlier this year. The run of dates concluded with the two shows at the 3Olympia Theatre in Ireland, that sold out on pre-sale alone. The 11 tracks on the album include: Heart In The Water, Headlands, Shadow, Leave, Afterglow, Shot In The Dark, Vancouver, Eyes Don’t Lie, Anyway, Flowers-Fire and Caroline.
The band are currently playing a summer festival season across Europe that includes Glastonbury, TRNMST, Isle Of Wight, Reading and Leeds, All Together Now, Sea Sessions, Down The Rabbit Hole and Rock Werchter. Later in the year they will play another massive UK and Ireland headline tour. The tour will see them play seventeen venues including London’s Shepherd’s Bush, making it their biggest run of headline shows to date. Starting in Ireland, the UK tour consists of shows in Bristol, Manchester, London, Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham. Tickets
Formed while members Eddie (vocals, guitar), McGoo (banjo), and Fitz (bass) were studying engineering at university in Limerick, Kingfishr are gathering momentum like few other bands in recent memory and boast over 30 million streams to date globally. The Irish trio lean into their heritage with traditional instruments and poetic songwriting. Kingfishr’s music is hugely cinematic, they pride themselves on deep textures and a grand sonic atmospheric nature, with influences ranging from Hanz Zimmer to Ben Howard. Three of the album’s live tracks were performed on The Independent’s live music session Music Box. Watch here.
