UK country & Americana singer-songwriter Kezia Gill has released the new single, ‘Dublin’s Outta Whiskey’ – the first taste of new music from her forthcoming album, All On Red, and the first song to be released since signing to Snakefarm/Universal.
A revenge anthem with swagger and grit, ‘Dublin’s Outta Whiskey’ is a brooding barroom stomper, with Gill’s trademark soaring vocals delivered with authority and vigour.
Gill says, “I wrote ‘Dublin’s Outta Whiskey’ with Matt Stell and Clint Lagerberg in Nashville in January 2023, so I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with the world and rock it out live on stage. This song is high energy with a rockier edge and is the ultimate revenge song for the woman scorned! When Dublin’s outta whiskey, she might just take you back, but I’m afraid that’s not happening anytime soon!”
Fans first got a taste of ‘Dublin’s Outta Whiskey’ on the BBC Radio 2 stage at this year’s C2C festival. This standout performance was a highlight of the weekend, and saw Entertainment Focus state, “In every artist’s career there comes a moment or a show that becomes a defining moment that the Netflix documentary team of the future can use to pinpoint just when it was that said artist really exploded… Gill’s set at the O2 Arena on the BBC Radio 2 Indigo stage was one for the history books; one to put in alongside Ashley McBryde and Drake Milligan as a real ‘were you there?’ moment.”
Gill will be heading out on the All On Red UK headline tour in February, which sees her joined by Nashville’s Alyssa Bonagura as special guest to open up the shows; Bonagura also produced and played on ‘Dublin’s Outta Whiskey’, recording the song at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville alongside a group of award-winning musicians – players whose collective CV’s include Sheryl Crow, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell and Heart. The mix was handled by Roger Alan Nichols at Bell Tone Recording in Nashville.
“It’s an absolute no brainer to have Alyssa as special guest on the tour, as she’s played such a huge part in making the ‘All On Red’ record,” Gill confirms.
“From co-writing some of the songs, to production, she helped me bring this whole album to life, and as a super talented artist in her own right, she’s the perfect person to help me take this new music on the road.”
