Multi-BRIT Award nominated, London-based DJ/producer, Joel Corry, is pleased to announce a headline Belfast show at The Telegraph Building on Thursday 16th March 2023. Joel has spent the last 10 years playing clubs right across the UK and Europe. Growing up during the peak of the UK Garage era, Joel’s early musical influences included iconic figures like Todd Edwards, MJ Cole and DJ EZ, who continue to influence his musical output to this day.
Joel’s platinum-selling breakthrough single ‘Sorry’ spent 10 weeks in the UK Top 10 in 2019, peaking at #6, and broke Shazam’s all-time daily record in the UK after receiving over 41,000 tags in one 24-hour period. He has since followed it up with further platinum hit singles ‘Lonely’, which peaked at #4, and the double-platinum ‘Head & Heart’ featuring MNEK, which scored Joel his first ever UK #1 and was officially verified the longest-running consecutive #1 record of 2020 after spending six weeks in top spot. It was also later named the UK’s Biggest Dance Single of 2020 by the Official Charts Company.
Joel followed up the success of ‘Head & Heart’ with ‘BED’ in March 2021 – a three-pronged collaboration with singer-songwriter RAYE and legendary DJ/producer, David Guetta. It peaked at #3 on the UK Singles Chart to earn Joel his third UK Top 5 single in a row.
The release of ‘BED’ coincided with the announcement of Joel’s 3x 2021 BRIT Award nominations, earning nods for British Single (‘Head & Heart’ ft. MNEK), Male Solo Artist and Breakthrough Artist, which made Joel the joint-highest nominated act of the entire awards alongside Dua Lipa. He has since been nominated for a further 2x 2022 BRIT Awards, both for Song Of The Year (‘BED’ w/ RAYE & David Guetta) and Best Dance Act, taking his total number of BRIT nominations to five.
Following a hectic summer 2021 period that saw Joel play a sold-out weekly residency at Ibiza Rocks, a slew of UK festivals and later head out on his first ever US Tour, Joel then released ‘OUT OUT’ – a single co-produced with fellow UK dance heavyweight, Jax Jones, featuring pop trailblazer Charli XCX and Cali rapper, Saweetie – which peaked at #6 and spent 10 weeks inside the UK Top 10.
‘I Wish’ featuring Mabel soon followed as Joel’s third single of 2021 and debuted live at his sold-out, 5000-capacity Printworks show in London – centre-piece of his sold-out UK Headline Tour that saw Joel play 11 nationwide dates throughout October and November. Having spent 11 weeks inside the UK Top 20, peaking at #17, ‘I Wish’ marked Joel’s sixth UK Top 20 single in a row.
With 2022 already taking shape as another blockbuster year in Joel’s career, he released a trio of club tracks across leading dance labels in February – Defected’s D4 D4NCE, Selected and Signal >> Supply – all of which landed inside the Beatport Top 10, serving as a reminder of Joel’s pedigree as a DJ, producer and selector.
The forward motion continued with the release of ‘What Would You Do?’ – another collaboration with David Guetta and this time US RnB star, Bryson Tiller – peaking at #21, as well as flagship DJ residencies in both Ibiza (Ibiza Rocks) and Las Vega, and a slew of festival appearances the world over including Lollapalooza Sweden, Exit Festival, Benicassim, Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo and Creamfields.
Joel released his latest single, ‘HISTORY’ – a first ever collaboration with BRIT Award winner, Becky Hill – on August 5, which bagged Joel a 7th UK Top 20 in a little over three years.
