UK AND IRELAND ‘GET BORN’ 20TH ANNIVERSARY SHOWS FOLLOW IN OCTOBER
The long-awaited return of JET now approaches on the eve of the UK and Ireland leg of their ‘Get Born’ 20th anniversary tour. Adding to the growing anticipation, the band now share their new single ‘Hurry Hurry’ – their first new material in 15 years – along with its b-side ‘Un’avventura’. Both tracks featured on a very limited 7” single which sold-out during JET’s shows in Australia earlier this year, where ‘Hurry Hurry’ also became a regular highlight of the set.
A second exclusive pressing of only 200 copies (numbered 301-500) will be available for sale at the live shows in ItalyUK and the USA.  As with the Australian 7”, only a strictly limited 20 numbered copies will be sold at the merch desk each night of the tour. And for those that miss out, another batch will be available in select retail outlets and available to pre-order online via impressedrecordings.com from Friday, 6th September.
‘Hurry Hurry’ is JET doing what they do best: gritty, groove-laden rock ‘n’ roll in the finest of traditions, played with the frantic pulse of a band eager to make their mark on the world – just as they did when they first made a phenomenal global impact. Now, though, there’s a masterly control to their rambunctious spirit which gives the track a tighter focus, while searing, Motown-esque female backing vocals complement the raspy power of Nic Cester’s topline.
Nic says, “‘Hurry Hurry’ is our first single in 15 years and a little appetiser while we continue to work on our upcoming album. We’ve been playing ‘Hurry Hurry’ live with a great response from our fans in Australia, we’re really looking forward to debuting it live at our overseas shows in Italy, the UK and the US.”
A searing shriek from Nic opens a free-spirited, Stax-style rock ‘n’ soul take on ‘Un’avventura’. With Nic performing in both English and Italian (he has lived in Italy for the past 15 years), JET’s version amplifies with the energy of Lucio Battisti’s original (and Wilson Pickett’s cover) without losing any of its innate charm.
‘Hurry Hurry’ was produced by Fabio Senna, while ‘Un’avventura’ was produced by JET with additional production from Tommaso Colliva. Both tracks were mixed by the Grammy-winning Ricky Damian. ‘Hurry Hurry’  also provides a first take of JET’s new studio album, which is set to follow in 2025.
JET’s Australian ‘Get Born’ anniversary shows have been rapturously received. Backseat Mafia’s review stated, “Nic Cester is of course a consummate and charming performer and Jet delivered the most energetic and enthralling performance filled with an energy that reflected their twenty-year ago younger selves.” Meanwhile, The Music described last year’s Melbourne performance as “one of the best gigs of the year.”
In addition to the UK and Ireland dates, listed below, JET have plenty more international touring on the schedule. They will also play two shows in Italy ahead of a North American tour which is entirely sold-out.
