Jester Majesty was formed in Turin, Italy in 2024 by Alessandro Gargivolo, born from his need to spread his creative wings and venture beyond the genre boundaries that surrounded his thrash band, Alchemist. An EP, Plains Of Heaven, was released that same year and received great critical acclaim from those who opened their arms to its expansive and progressive sound. Fellow guitarist Erymanthon Seth contributed to the Plains Of Heaven EP and a bond was formed between the two men that lead to Jester Majesty becoming a creative partnership. The first results of this melding of talents are now about to be unveiled in the form of the first full length album to bear the Jester Majesty name. A concept album that examines mankind’s endless quest for knowledge and battle against the limitations that hold back his progress, Infinite Measure, Finite Existence travels dystopian pathways into possible futures, accompanied by the sound magnificent, inspiring and invigorating progressive metal. As introductory piece ‘Zero-Point Collapse’ thunders into ‘Human vs. Machine’, its engaging vocal melodies unwinding above complex musical patterns, the sheer dazzling quality of Infinite Measure, Finite Existence is almost immediately apparent. It’s genuinely exciting to accompany Jester Majesty as they explore dark depths of overwhelming heaviness and beautifully bewildering cascades of glittering lead work. There are so many highlights, not just throughout the album but within each, individual song; be it the deep vein of melancholy within the structured chaos of ‘The Curse Of Majesty’, the unstoppable, fiercely focussed precision of ‘Masquerade (The Algorithm)’, or the measured and purposeful ‘Amphibian To Chameleon’ that breaks open to reveal stunning visions of alien vistas. Jester Majesty use their boundless abilities to forge the most enthralling songs and to explore metal’s broadest territories, creating an album of utterly remarkable quality.
