Japanese metal band Esprit D’Air announce 22-date European tour Esprit D’Air announce their highly-anticipated European tour for 2023-2024. Following the chart-topping success of their latest album release, “Oceans“, Esprit D’Air will be touring across the continent on a 22-date tour in Poland, Hungary, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. Esprit D’Air‘s European tour will kick off with a short run in October 2023, which will then extend from February until April 2024. The band, led by vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Kai, will be joined by a lineup featuring Jan–Vincent Velazco (Pendragon, Gus G) on drums, Takeshi on bass, and Yusuke on guitar. Their latest album, “Oceans”, which features members of The Sisters of Mercy and former vocalist of Crystal Lake, entered several Official UK Chart positions for a number of weeks, including at #5 in Album Downloads, #8 in Rock and Metal Albums, and #19 in Scottish Albums. Named as the ‘Leviathan Tour‘, the tour is entirely self-promoted by Kai, and promises performances from the latest album, “Oceans”, as well as new material that is on its way. With the Budapest concert already sold out four months in advance, fans are encouraged to secure their tickets promptly to avoid missing out on the remaining limited tickets for shows in Kraków, Barcelona, Dublin, and Belfast. The band’s distinctive electronic metal sound has garnered critical acclaim and international recognition, with features on Billboard, Huff Post, Loudwire, Kerrang! Radio, and BBC Radio 1, as well as praise from members of Cradle of Filth and Trivium. Their debut album, “Constellations,” received high praise and won the prestigious Best Metal Album award at The Independent Music Awards in 2018. Esteemed musicians including Slayer, Sepultura and Amy Lee (Evanescence) were part of the judging panel for the award. After a successful sold-out 7-day UK tour earlier this year, Esprit D’Air is now embarking on an extensive European tour, covering Poland, Hungary, Spain, the United Kingdom (including England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland), Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. Tickets for the tour in Poland, Hungary, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Ireland are already on sale, while the newly extended tour dates in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium will go on sale starting Friday, 7 July 2023, at 10:00 AM local time. – Matthew K. Heafy, Trivium “Gargantuan, taking electronic-sounding elements and just layering it over some of the best guitar riffs I’ve heard in a minute.”
– Nels Hylton, BBC Radio 1 “Catchy and atmospheric, with incredible vocals and an otherworldly guitar solo. What a song!”
– Richard Shaw, Cradle Of Filth “Leviathan is a wonderful song, feels like a modern day opera with heavy guitars set on fire! Melancholic and haunting, the vocals cut deep. A truly inspired song.”
– Michael Falcore, The Birthday Massacre “It’s a really unique blend of djent, industrial, electro, goth, emo, metal and much more. I love the dramatics and cinematic quality it has, with haunting, melancholy colors swooping between the cruel, relentless jaws of the machine.”
– Ben Christo, The Sisters of Mercy “Showcases how these guys have the ability to mix up so many flavors. It’s proggy, cinematic, it’s synthy, it’s a bit Dragon Force-y at times, a bit metal-y, but all the time, it’s bloody great.”
– Alex Baker, Kerrang! Radio “The kind of world-conquering metal epic that has helped power metal become such a vital force again this past decade.”
– Rich Hobson, Metal Hammer “The pandemic has proved difficult for many, but Japanese metallers Esprit D’Air have channeled their longing for connection into an intriguing new video that soundtracks the epic and atmospheric new song “Leviathan.”
