James Morrison commenced a high profile return with his recent single ‘Fight Another Day’. It was premiered by Scott Millson Radio 2 where it was subsequently B-listed, and also received a spread of key international playlists across all major platforms. Now the chart-topping, multiple-PlatinumBRIT Award winner moves towards the October 3rd release of his sixth album, also titled ‘Fight Another Day’, with the new single ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Loved’Listen HERE.

‘The Man Who Can’t Be Loved’ is the kind of classic, belting piano ballad that fans have come to love James for. His instantly recognisable soul-blues holler is the star of the show: a huge vocal for a huge tune. The stripped-back piano accompaniment pushes the song’s powerful emotions to the fore, while James’s lead is complemented by rousing soulful backing vocals.

James says, “‘The Man Who Can’t Be Loved’ is a song about being in a place where you feel like you’re not enough or you’re inadequate in loving someone and questioning who you are.”

‘The Man Who Can’t Be Loved’ was written by James alongside Adam James and Kjetil Morland. He also co-produced the track alongside his long-term collaborator Mark Taylor.

The two singles provide a taste of what will make ‘Fight Another Day’ a standout set in James’s discography – an album born of difficult times and heavy emotions but one that, ultimately, leans into the light and joy and hope. Musically it blends classic James songs such as this with fresh touches as he evokes influences spanning all-time greats Stevie Wonder and George Harrison to contemporary stars such as Imagine Dragons and AWOLNATION. His other collaborators on the record include the two-time Ivor Novello winner Eg White plus Daniel MerriweatherConnor Reeves and Andy Platt (Young Gun Silver Fox).

‘Fight Another Day’ is available to pre-order / pre-save HERE. Formats include a signed orange-swirl vinyl, white vinyl, signed CD and a cassette. All bundles purchased from his official store also include a signed lyrics sheet of the album’s title track.
