As he moves towards the October 25th release of his new album ‘BENJAMIN’, Jake Isaac’s recent singles have been about the important things in life: family, love, identity, heritage and support. With those songs landing significant acclaim, including Radio 2 playlists for ‘GOOD MAN’ and ‘BLACK OR WHITE’ as well as a cover feature from Echoes, Jake now unveils the new single ‘FOOLS FOR LOVE’. Listen HERE. In keeping with the inquisitive, insightful direction of the ‘BENJAMIN’ album, ‘FOOLS FOR LOVE’ examines love from an unorthodox perspective: that of a couple united by love but who strive to work tirelessly in face of its challenges to maintain it. And can anything define love more precisely than keeping going at times when it would be easier to just give up? The song is equally timeless, soul played with passion and feeling, with an old school, live band feeling that allows its emotions to spill out. Jake says, “Sometimes love has a way of being the thing that brings life, but can also be the thing that causes one to lose part of oneself. This song is my experience of that journey.” Jake wrote ‘FOOLS FOR LOVE’ with the album’s co-producer Ian Barter (Amy Winehouse) and it was recorded at Eastcote Studios in London. ‘BENJAMIN’ is an album that presents an autobiographical portrait of who Jake is at this moment in his life. It’s a soul-searching confessional of stories, emotions and experiences in which Jake introduces the man behind the artist in his most authentic way yet. Of course, an artist and their personality are often innately interlinked and what emerges is a son, a husband and a father who is evidently achieving great things in his life – but someone who has the courage and introspection to also expose the the things that he would like to change about himself. The album is available to pre-save HERE. ‘FOOLS FOR LOVE’ is released as Jake prepares to play a special Radio 2 Piano Room live show at Manchester Opera House tomorrow. He is part of a bill headlined by Katie Melua and that also features Brooke Combe, with all three artists performing alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra. Jake will then follow the release of ‘BENJAMIN’ by playing a Londonheadline show at Village Underground on November 2nd – tickets are available HERE. |
