Italian trap-rock-trio STUNT PILOTS have released a music video for track ‘SELLOUT’, taken from the new EP ‘THE TAKEOFF’, out today on all major digital platforms via Island Records / Universal Music Italia.
The EP, an extension of the track ‘IMMA STUNT’ which earned them 2nd place on X Factor Italia, is a series of snapshots around the theme of authenticity captured through the eyes of the young artists; Zo Vivaldi (Lorenzo Caio Sarti) on guitar and vocals, Moonet (Simone Colombaretti) on bass, and Farina (Emanuele Farina) on drums.
The five tracks on ‘The TAKEOFF’ are about leaving your comfort zone; about ‘rebellion’ as a necessary tool to define yourself and to establish yourself as a ‘voice’. It’s a transparent account of the period after their participation in the TV show by a band that remained anarchic in their essence while simultaneously finding their way within the mainstream. It’s a reflection on trends, on passing visibility, and on the importance of remaining realistic and anchored in one’s own positivity.
It’s a ‘scream’ accompanied by a production that combines electronic hyper-pop with the rock sounds of Led Zeppelin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, thanks to the support of producer Foi and the mixing of GodFather666. A mixture of analogue sounds with unusual, unpredictable references, lead to songs that evolve and develop with rapid changes, which were also influenced by the long period the band spent in Berlin where most of the tracks on the EP were birthed.
Stunt Pilots are an explosive trap-rock-trio formed in Milan in 2020. With a background as street musicians and trained in Berlin, they recently came 2nd in XFactor (2023 edition), rocketing them to a series of sold-out concerts that have further cemented them in the music scene. Playing at international rapper JuiceJudah’s live shows and opening for SwimSoul have catapulted fans into daring and surreal flights. Their previous EP ‘Dirty Laundry’ and track ‘IMMA STUNT’ are a manifesto of their energy and their need to break out of their comfort zone, confirming Stunt Pilots as an unstoppable force.
