UK/EUROPEAN TOUR DATES IN APRIL 2023
Italian rock icons Verdena are thrilled to announce the release of their seventh full length record Volevo Magia on 28th April 2023, via Capitol Records Italy / Universal Music. The band is also excited to share the brand new single taken from the album, Crystal Ball, which is accompanied by an amazing music video, available here.
Formed in 1995, Verdena comprises of Alberto Ferrari (vocals and guitar), Luca Ferrari (drums) and Roberta Sammarelli (bass). The rock trio draws inspiration from a variety on genres, ranging from Nirvana-esque grunge soundscape, to psychedelic rock influences with a hint of stoner. Fully embedded into the Italian music scene, Verdena have established themselves as one of the leading rock outfits in the country.
Volevo Magia follows from the recent release of the album America Latina, music inspired by the film, made for the film directed by the D’Innocenzo brothers, which marked the end of a long period of silence since their latest release, Endkadenz, a two-volume project, in 2015.
Throughout their career, Verdena have toured in Italy and Europe, gaining the reputation as one of the best live bands in the country, delivering energetic and unforgettable shows every single time. The band recently completed a 16 date Italian tour, with 14 sold out shows, and have just announced a full European/UK tour in April 2023, with a London show on 29th April at the renowned Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

ABOUT VERDENA
Verdena trace their history back to 1995 thanks to Alberto Ferrari (vocals, guitar), his brother Luca (drums) and Roberta Sammarelli (bass). In September 1999 their debut album, Valvonauta, produced by Giorgio Canali, was released and inaugurated the record deal with Black Out / Universal. In 2001 the EP Spaceman was released, followed by the second album Solo un grande sasso, recorded in Mauro Pagani’s Studio Next and produced by Manuel Agnelli. The tour lasted until the end of 2002. At the beginning of 2004 the third album, Il suicidio dei samurai was released, anticipated by the EP Luna. In 2007 Verdena released their fourth album, Requiem, which like the previous one was also released in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Spain. In June 2007 the EP Caños wase released, which marked a change in sound: the electronic influences became a significant part of the music. The band’s fifth album, Wow, was released in January 2011 and certified gold, while the vinyl debuted second on the album chart. In April 2011 Universal released Verdena – 7EP Limited Edition, a collection of 7 EPs released by the band between 1999 and 2007. In 2015, what is still their latest album, split into two volumes, Endkadenz Vol. 1 and Endkadenz Vol. 2, was released. After presenting it with a very successful tour, Verdena in 2016 continued their concerts with a series of dates in Europe. In September 2016 an EP was released in collaboration with Iosonouncane, called Split. In January 2022 the band released Latin America – music inspired by the film, a collection of instrumental tracks composed and orchestrated for the soundtrack of the homonymous film by the D’Innocenzo brothers and nominated for the recent David di Donatello.
