July 18, 2025– Philadelphia, PA – Rising indie-alternative artist isitjosh has released the official music video for “life of the party,” featuring longtime collaborator JR Graves. The track is a fan favorite from his debut album A Collection of Short Stories About the Heart, which dropped on May 30th. Watch the official “life of the party” music video here. “life of the party” captures a familiar heartbreak – watching someone you care about turn to distractions instead of facing reality. “It’s about watching someone you love choose temporary escapes over facing what’s real, something I’ve been on both sides of,” says isitjosh. “This video is completely DIY. I mixed pro footage with fan clips from my hometown album release show. I wanted to share that night exactly like it was: chaotic, imperfect, and surrounded by the people who raised me in Omaha’s music scene. Being able to perform this track live with JR Graves really made the night so much more special.” Shot between raw live moments and intimate fan-captured footage, the video blurs the line between personal memory and performance art, echoing the themes of nostalgia, disillusionment, and growth that thread through the album. For JR Graves, the message hit close to home. “I think we all can relate to stepping away from ‘the party’ in some way or another and seeing how that affects life and relationships. When Josh let me in on the song concept, I couldn’t imagine a better way to capture that cognitive dissonance and was in immediately,” says Graves. “Chasing a dream at our age looks very different than we used to do it.
