Heavy Head Feeling has today released a track of complete catharsis with his genre-collision of a new single ‘Don’t Look Down’. The raw, self-produced track finds beauty in imperfections and making peace with the things that haven’t gone to plan in the past. Heavy Head Feeling explains his headspace going into its creation: “On a deeply personal level, writing and producing this song has helped pull me through the grief of losing two family members. After an eight month grieving period, it’s time to dust off the feelings.”
A quietly-driving composition, wending its way through a variety of textural soundscapes, ‘Don’t Look Down’ pulls on a wide range of personal influences from The Story So Far to Meryl Streek via the Bloodhound Gang. Inspired by pop-rock and punk but building to an electronic-fuelled breakdown via a pulsating bassline, the track was written and recorded in a spare-room home studio in Grangetown, Cardiff. Part raw energy, and part personal reflection, ‘Don’t Look Down’ is about finding a way forward when life knocks you sideways.
Heavy Head Feeling is a Cardiff-based, one-chap system who blends bass-heavy electronics, organic textures, and pop-rock with no limits. Having played music since the age of 13, with multiple gigs and festival performances under his belt within various musical acts, HHF brings that lifetime of experience to a project driven by feelings, melodies, and emotions. Expect messy, raw, and honest soundtracks for everyday survival.
