Fresh from the announcement of their biggest ever tour of UK and Ireland, including a 20,000-capacity show in Dublin, Inhaler have shared another preview of their forthcoming new album. Title track ‘Open Wide’ is the second to be unveiled from the band’s eagerly awaited third album and serves as a follow-up to recent single ‘Your House’. The Dublin four-piece’s album ‘Open Wide’ is set for release on February 7th through Polydor Records. The eponymous track from Inhaler’s new album is emblematic of the Irish quartet’s daring new era, a driving indie-rock epic mixing yearning hooks, expansive guitar lines and Balearic-style percussion. A huge singalong set to their most undeniable and infectious groove yet, ‘Open Wide’ is the sound of a band thrillingly coming into their own. Already familiar as a fan-favourite from the band’s current live set during the opening leg of their Open Wide World Tour in North America, the new track is one of 13 songs that will feature on their album of the same name. Speaking about their new song, frontman Elijah Hewson says, “Open Wide was originally a short electronic house demo that was lying around in our graveyard. We loved the bass line and the four to the floor kick on it. When we took it to the studio in London for the tracking of the album and started playing it in the room it took on almost the opposite form, it’s still got that hypnotic tunnel thing but it’s gone panoramic. We love it.” The album ‘Open Wide’ was produced by Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles/Florence & The Machine) and marks a giant leap forward for the band. Beginning work on it early this year in London, the band were encouraged to challenge themselves and take more creative control. Listening to a wide range of genres during writing – from techno to Nick Cave – inspired them to experiment with a brighter, timeless sound, adding texture to the record. The result is an album of 13 songs that feels unique – a guitar-driven pop album unlike any other, solidifying their status as one of the most exciting young bands today.
