INDIE-POP SINGER/SONGWRITER CODY LAWLESS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “SHE THINKS”

(February 7, 2025) – Canadian indie/pop singer-songwriter Cody Lawless has released his new single, “She Thinks,” today.

Cody says, “I wrote ‘She Thinks’ for everyone who’s been in a relationship where your partner overthinks everything you do, every word you write, and every choice you make. It’s for the folks who feel like they can never give enough reassurance that ultimately leads to the end of something that could have been great. This song was written when things were shifting between me and my now ex-girlfriend. I did the lyrics on my phone’s Voice Memos while driving to her house. It’s the most honest song I’ve written.”

Cody most recently released the single “Willy Wishbone,” featuring fellow Vancouver artist Elijah Blond. This outlier of a track evokes both Death Cab for Cutie and ‘90s-era Beck. Watch the video for “Willy Wishbone” HERE.

Previously working under the moniker KNOWN. and releasing his debut rap project, Paradise Park, at the age of 20, Mission, BC-based songwriter Cody James Henn needed an artistic change. And that change — a result of discovering this “authentic self” and with the admitted help of psychedelics — has resulted in a brilliant transformation. Enter Cody Lawless.

2023’s Sunshine State of a Happy Camper hinted at Cody’s easy-going pop vibes.  After the release of that album, Cody toured across Europe, the UK, and North America supporting frequent collaborator Powfu.

This next chapter of Lawless’s creative evolution finds the artist delving into dreamy indie pop, full of jangly guitars, pop hooks, and plenty of lyrical self-reflection.
