After creating the evocative ‘Space Station Earth’ album accompanied by an immersive, out-of-this-world tour made in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), Ilan Eshkeri is now set for a different kind of fantastical adventure. This Christmas will get underway with four special 10th anniversary shows of the beloved family favourite ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’, which will be brought to life by the film’s original composers, Ilan Eshkeri and Andy Burrows, alongside a live concert orchestra. The perfect way to get into the festive spirit, the show will come to Birmingham Town Hall on December 17th and the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London on December 20th with matinee and evening performances on both days. Tickets for the show are now on general sale here. First broadcast in 2012 on Channel 4, the sequel to ‘The Snowman’ tells the story of Billy, who discovers a snowman-making kit hidden under the floorboards of his new home on Christmas Eve. Billy builds a snowman and, with a little leftover snow, a snowdog. As the clock strikes midnight, the two come to life and Billy joins them on a magical, fun-filled journey across the skies to attend a party filled with snowmen and Father Christmas himself. Now as popular as the original animation, Eshkeri and Burrows’ music is an integral part of ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ experience and resulted in the duo earning a BAFTA nomination for their score. This autumn and winter will also see Eshkeri’s music grace two major television series, with scores for the following shows and more still to be announced: - ‘SAS: Rogue Heroes’ (BBC One). A major new drama series from ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight, which presents a dramatised account of how the world’s greatest Special Forces unit, the SAS, was formed under extraordinary circumstances in the darkest days of World War Two. The show’s all-star cast includes Connor Swindells (‘Sex Education’), Jack O’Connell (‘Unbroken’), Alfie Allen (‘Jojo Rabbit’), Sofia Boutella (‘Modern Love’) and Dominic West (‘The Wire’).
- ‘Kingdom of Dreams’ (SKY). The docuseries is a visually dazzling chronicle of the fashion world spanning three decades – from the early-1990s to the 2010s. It is a Golden Age, a time when the forces of ground-breaking creativity and disruptive business converge and collide. Fashion explodes out of the traditional, elite kingdoms of haute couture and style – Paris, Milan, London and New York – to become a truly global phenomenon.
