Rising metalcore force If Not For Me is set to release their blistering new single “Unholy” on Friday, March 13th via Thriller Records. The track arrives alongside an official music video premiering at noon ET that same day. Marking one of the band’s heaviest and most immersive songs to date, “Unholy” dives headfirst into possession, paranoia, and the loss of control.

“I normally tend to write songs from a place of personal experience but every now and then I like to get out of my own head and write about something completely off the wall, and ‘Unholy’ is definitely one of those songs,” shares vocalist Patrick Glover. “‘Unholy’ is all about being possessed by a demon and being controlled from the inside out. I tried to tap into what it might be like to feel their presence beneath your skin, influencing your every move and infiltrating your every thought until you’re forced to submit.“

Vocalist Patrick Glover shares more insight on the idea behind the track:

“I really wanted to lean into the horror imagery in the lyrics and leave almost nothing up to interpretation, and it was super important to me to really convey the desperation and intensity of the vocals. I wanted the listener to really feel the ‘clawing under my skin’ and ‘gnawing out of my head,’ as well as the frantic delivery in the screams and instrumentals. I probably pushed my vocals harder than I ever have while recording ‘Unholy,’ and it ended up being one of my favorite songs we’ve ever written. So stoked to share this one with everybody.”

ABOUT IF NOT FOR ME

Hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, If Not For Me has steadily grown into a powerhouse voice in the modern metalcore scene. Made up of Patrick Glover on vocals, Hayden Calhoun on guitar, Zac Allen on bass, and Cody Frain on drums, the band pairs driving heaviness with a strong instinct for melody. Drawing from their shared roots in the Central Pennsylvania music scene, the four-piece builds songs that balance weight and atmosphere with soaring hooks and emotionally grounded songwriting.

Inspired by bands such as August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, and Bring Me The Horizon, If Not For Me pull from the foundations of heavy music while allowing their songwriting to stretch beyond strict genre lines. That influence comes through in every live performance. The band has shared stages with acts like Make Them Suffer, Memphis May Fire, Electric Callboy, Bury Tomorrow, and Set It Off, and has appeared at Vans Warped Tour Long Beach and the Summer School Tour. They are preparing for upcoming festival appearances including Welcome to Rockville and Inkcarceration, and will headline a three-way tour alongside Colorblind and Windwaker this May.

What sets If Not For Me apart is their ability to channel raw emotion without losing the scale and power of their sound. Their songs invite listeners into something personal while still delivering the impact expected from the genre. As they continue to tour and release new music, the band remains focused on creating moments that resonate far beyond the stage.
