Cambridgeshire alt-metal risers HRTLSS gatecrash 2025 with their explosive new single ‘To Dust’, a track that cements their reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting heavy prospects.
Following their UK live debut with Mallory Knox in 2024, HRTLSS have wasted no time levelling up. The band enlisted Nathan Smart and George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe, Breakk.Away) on production and mixing duties, while Zak Pinchin (Holding Absence, Bury Tomorrow, PRESIDENT) was recruited to bring the track’s haunting visual narrative to life.
‘To Dust’ is an introspective deep dive into cycles of self-destruction, blistering self-awareness, and the impact of toxic behaviours on relationships. Sonically, it fuses the band’s signature collision of metal and alternative R&B, while the accompanying video – drawing inspiration from The Haunting of Hill House – delivers a visceral, cinematic experience that amplifies the emotional weight of the song.
With each release, HRTLSS continue to push the boundaries of heavy music, blurring the line between sound and story. Speaking on the single, HRTLSS explain: “‘To Dust’ is us holding a mirror up to the darkest parts of ourselves. It’s about recognising how destructive cycles can consume everything you love, and turning that honesty into something both crushing and cathartic. This song feels like the real beginning of HRTLSS.”
