Dubbed Scotland’s most electrifying busking band, funk-rock trio High Fade have built a reputation the old-fashioned way: playing everywhere, to everyone, with fearless musicianship and uncontainable energy. What began on the streets of Edinburgh has become a worldwide phenomenon, propelled by viral performances and tracks such as ‘Burnt Toast & Coffee’, ‘Gossip’, ‘Burnin’’, and a bold reimagining of Herbie Hancock’s ‘Chameleon’. Their rise has been organic, relentless, and entirely self-made.

50-date US & Canada tour to kick off in May and 40-date EU tour to kick off in March.

Speaking about the new single, ‘Swamp’, they say: “We’re back! Coming into this year swinging, with our heaviest release yet, while still maintaining our chaotic and fast punk-funk sound. ‘Swamp’ welcomes new fans and hopefully turns the heads of those  not already convinced of what we’re capable of.”

Comprised of founder Harry Valentino (guitar, vocals), Oliver Sentence (bass, mustache), and Heath Campbell (drums), High Fade have clocked over 1,500 shows across the UK, Europe, and North America, earning a reputation as one of the most ferocious live bands currently touring. Their shows are a physical experience: raw, explosive, and unconcerned with the supposed limits of a three-piece band.

At the heart of High Fade’s story is a firm belief in independence and self-determination. Valentino, raised on the outskirts of Edinburgh, has become a vocal advocate for DIY musicianship, openly encouraging emerging artists to build on their own terms rather than surrender creative control. Despite interest from major labels, the band chose to remain fully independent, launching and operating their own imprint, RPN Records (“Rippin’ Records”). Far from limiting their reach, this approach has empowered High Fade to release music freely, move quickly, and stay rooted in the grassroots culture that shaped them, proving that independence is not a compromise but a competitive advantage

Recorded between East Iris Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and the legendary RAK Studios in St John’s Wood, London, Twice As Nice captures High Fade in a moment of expansion. While the band’s unmistakable funk-fuelled core remains intact, this record stretches far beyond familiar ground, digging into heavier textures, richer vocal arrangements, and new songwriting instincts. The album moves fluidly between bruising, high-impact tracks and deep-pocket funk, balancing grit with groove while revealing a broader emotional and musical range than ever before.

Lyrically, melodically, and musically, Twice As Nice represents a clear leap forward. With a rapidly growing global audience now exceeding 1.3 million followers, much of the time off the road was spent immersed in studios and writing sessions, collaborating with new voices, refining production, and actively searching for new sounds. The result is a body of work that firmly establishes High Fade as more than a busking success story. After turning down major label offers to protect their independence and grassroots ethos, Twice As Nice stands as a statement of resilience, independence, and ambition, a band choosing to come out swinging in 2026, on their own terms.

Festival appearances at Boomtown, Suwannee Hulaween, and Glastonbury have cemented their status, including a remarkable triple performance in a single day at Glastonbury 2024. Each appearance has furthered the sense that High Fade are operating on their own wavelength, fusing funk, rock, disco, jazz, punk, metal, and soul into a sound that feels both future-leaning and joyfully familiar.

Twice As Nice follows their debut album Life’s Too Fast (2024), which charted across the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA, and Australia. Entirely independent and fiercely DIY, High Fade continue to release music outside the major-label system, steering their own course through RPN Records.
