Emo/alternative duo Hell Hotel today release their macabre new single ‘last rites…’ It’s a song that delves into the destructive nature of a lust-filled relationship and the guilt that it leaves. The band say: “‘last rites…’ encapsulates all of our collective influences wrapped up in a guilt ridden, lustful vampiric bow. Laced with some of our most defiantly flamboyant and grandiose moments yet it is just a taste of what’s to come in the next step in the evolution of Hell Hotel”.
‘last rites…’ is the first half of the band’s debut double A-side ‘last rites…first confession.’ – with the second half set for release 15th November. The ambitious accompanying video for the project encompasses both songs and serves as a grandiose visual extension of the track’s emotional weight. Set in an 18th Century Church, the visualiser features stark religious decor, glowing candles, and silhouetted figures that echo the song’s themes of searching for a remedy to inner turmoil. The countdown to its premiere is now live.
These new tracks serve as the culmination of an exciting 2026 for the band, which saw them touring extensively across the UK, alongside artists such as As It Is and Dream State. They also appeared at Collision Fest and commanded a headline slot at NOIZZE Fest.
Formed in Brighton and rooted in the emotional chaos of early 2000s emo, Hell Hotel fuse the influence of bands like The Used, Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance with the modern bite of homegrown acts such as Holding Absence and Static Dress, forging a sound that is both wistfully nostalgic and defiantly current. With airplay on BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock courtesy of Alyx Holcombe, regional support from BBC Introducing Sussex & Surrey, and growing attention from the likes of Rock Sound, their emotionally impassioned output to date has earned them a loyal following among listeners seeking a more vulnerable edge in modern heavy music. Previous singles such as ‘mirrors.’, ‘every broken part.’ and ‘promises.’ have cemented the band’s reputation as one of the most compelling new voices in UK emo.
