Canberra, Australia- HANDS LIKE HOUSES have today released their incredible new album “A T M O S P H E R I C S”  which Rock Sound calls “their most ambitious project yet” and “a masterclass in soaring melodies and anthemic choruses” listen to the record now.

“Atmospherics is an album built from many life lessons and experiences. A big part of this is the fact that no one thought it would ever exist.  The creative environments of the past had been clouded by so many obstacles but now, there’s a fresh start to start redefining what it means to be a band again. It’s a terrifying thing but beautiful nonetheless. ln reality, we’re all figuring out things as we go but we’ve been able to access the excitement, chaos and unpredictable creativity that comes with approaching our process with love and wonder.

Everything we do feels like it’s under a magnifying glass, especially with the way our culture has shifted and the way we digest everything.   Different perspectives become thrown into a narrative that perhaps should just be between the artist, but we are focused on one thing: Our own journey, our own expression, our atmosphere.

It’s our largest project to date, and the start of a very exciting time for us. We are thankful for everyone following along, and all our collaborators, family and team for their support. We hope you enjoy, it’s very much just the beginning.” says the band.

The album is a 16 track double album, made of four Volumes;  Tropo(sphere),  Strato(sphere), Meso(sphere) and Thermo(sphere).  Each volume allowed the band to build and shape themselves into a new version, led by the charismatic frontman Josh Raven.

“The idea for Atmospherics came during one of the low parts of our career” say Joel Tyrrell.  “Everything we knew had been swept away, and we really didn’t know if we would continue on as a band so we had to dig deep together and talk about what we wanted. Some of our happiest moments have been with the band so we wanted to re-shape our future”

The concept of A T M O S P H E R I C S is about learning how to fly again, on their own terms refreshed and as an independent band.

“The idea of floating through the different layers of the atmosphere to see what we could all see, hear and create together painted such a nice picture for how things were flowing with the introduction of our new singer, Josh.  Volume wasn’t the goal, but the spark had been lit and the idea’s were flowing, so we just kept adding layers to the Atmosphere. We have removed the pressure we used to place on ourselves.  The songs didn’t have to fit a sound for an album, it can just exist as a moment in time, for that particular layer of the atmosphere.”

The band started writing songs with friends and mentors as a way to explore ways to make the project feel more like a collective. It was at this time they reconnected with Josh Raven, and although they had recorded tracks with metalcore legend Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, The Almost) on “Better Before“, then also The Getaway Plan for  “Paradise“, “Obey feat Kellin Quinn”.  It was Josh they formed a magical connection with and have no formed Hands Like Houses a-new.
