Grungegaze quintet TNL VZN release brooding new single ‘Chameleon’

Announce biggest headline show to date in Birmingham on 11th December

Further shows including Burn It Down appearance plotted

Emerging “Grungegaze” quintet TNL VZN (pronounced “tunnel vision”) have today released a brand new single ‘Chameleon’ along with accompanying music video. ‘Chameleon’ by name, chameleon by nature, the track wends its way through evocative, atmospheric soundscapes, heavy walls of sound and pure vocal melodies.

Vocalist Eva May Beard says “The track is about someone pretending to be someone they’re not. Shifting into different personalities and appearances to try and gain social higher ground over other people. We wanted the video [directed by Murry Deaves] to highlight the idea of metamorphosis in the dark to highlight the lyrics. With the video being shot in the dark it’s hard to see what/who you’re looking at – the same feeling you get with these ‘chameleons’. The Night vision aspect was inspired by rap videos of the last decade and found footage horrors, it gives a more personal and uncomfortable viewing, almost like the idea of being stalked.”

TNL VZN have also announced their biggest headline show to date at the o2 Institute 3 in Birmingham on 11th December. Tickets on sale now. Other opportunities to see the band live are at Burn It Down Festival in September, and supporting BEX at Signature Brew this weekend. See below for further details.

Hailing from Birmingham, TNL VZN blend their childhood influences of 2000’s Post Hardcore and Nu-metal with late 90’s grunge and heavy shoegaze, taking inspiration from some of their favourite artists including Deftones, Flyleaf, Paramore, Fleshwater and Superheaven. Since their inception, TNL VZN have shared stages with the likes of Fleshwater, Dead Pony, Wayside, Midrift and Split Chain, demonstrating the diversity of bills their shape-shifting music can fit on.

With previous music being showcased by Daniel P. Carter on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, the sky is the limit for TNL VZN who are crafting some of the most compelling new music out there in the UK’s current music scene. The band have carefully curated their own audiovisual “world” for fans to dive into and be a part of.
