GRINN announce debut EP, ‘Silence’, due out September 18th

UK alternative metal rising newcomers GRINN have today announced their debut EP, ‘Silence’, set for release on September 18th.

To coincide with the announcement, the band have shared the official music video for their new single ‘Control’, offering a glimpse into a release that showcases their ambitious and distinctive approach to modern heavy music.

Speaking of the new single, vocalist Federico Spera explains, “Control is about relinquishing control. The lyrics were inspired by something I was reading about how certain kinds of people, who normally seem very controlling and dominating in their day-to-day life, are sometimes very sexually submissive and not only fetishise the idea of being dominated, but use real experiences of sexual submission as a form of meditation to escape from their usual controlling and demanding selves.”

GRINN are carving out a sound that refuses to sit neatly within the genre’s established boundaries. Combining crushing riffs, thunderous drums, soaring melodies and ferocious vocals, the band balance heaviness with a progressive and emotionally charged edge.

At the heart of GRINN’s sound is the dynamic interplay between Cameron Warren’s clean vocals and Federico Spera’s visceral screams, allowing the band to shift effortlessly between moments of melodic vulnerability and outright intensity. Their songwriting draws from modern alternative metal while embracing the influence of ’90s nu-metal, rock and grunge, creating something both familiar and distinctly their own.
