GREAT MUSIC STORIES TO BROADCAST 10-HOUR SPECIAL FOR THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE

This Bank Holiday Friday, Great Music Stories Radio will bring together more than 50 rock and blues artists for a message of support for the people of Ukraine – rockers standing together for peace and freedom.

Five weeks ago, GuyB organised an impromtu ‘rockshow for freedom’ for his Friday show slot, a dozen or so artists came together to share messages for peace.

Since then more artists messages have continued come in and GuyB has also done a number of interviews with artists that want to do something a little more involved.

This Friday, everything from the last five weeks will be aired as a 10-hour special for peace, plus a number of new interviews with be aired. Links will also be shared for those that want to support various humanitarian charities

Some highlights for the day

  • Sepp Osley, founder of band Blurred Vision will talk about his work with charity War Child, and his personal experiences of growing up in a country surrounded by conflict.
  • Ukrainian rock band Ignea speak from just oustide the Ukraine capital Kyiv.
  • Polish rock band Chemia talk about their humanitarian work supporting a refugee centre.
  • Sari Schorr talks about her connection with Ukraine and her efforts to support charities during her current UK tour dates.

GuyB at Great Music Stories comments: “I think we have all felt a shocked by what we’ve seen on the news and also a sense of helplessness. On Friday, we’ll come together to share a message for peace and freedom. It’s important the rock and blues community is connected to world events and has something to say. The messages for peace are a sincere and heartfelt step by a wide range of musicians to demonstrate a show of support with the people of Ukraine.”
