About BEAM
Emerging as a proud and proven outlier, BEAM pieces together hip-hop, dancehall, and R&B into an otherworldly vision that ebbs and flows in tune with his emotions. He initially blasted off on his debut project 95 in 2019, which garnered him praise from the likes of The FADER, British Vogue, Highsnobiety, Hypebeast, New York Magazine, The Face, Clash, and more, while he also performed a buzzed-about COLORS session. NPR highlighted it as one of their “Best Albums of 2019” in addition to inviting him to perform a NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. Not to mention, Pigeons and Planes and British GQ selected him as a “2020 Artist To Watch.” He followed that in 2022 with his debut full-length, ALIEN—a collection of songs that ruminates on life-long memories, muses on relationships, confronts mental health struggles, and grows up a bit in the process against a sonic backdrop of supremely kinetic rhythms, icy production, and intoxicating melodies. Throughout his rise, BEAM’s voice has resonated throughout popular music as a GRAMMY® Award-winning producer and songwriter with credits for Rihanna, Kanye West, 21 Savage, Migos, Internet Money, Pop Smoke, Skrillex, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and more. He is also a sought-after collaborator, having appeared on albums like Justin Bieber’s 2021 Billboard Top 200 #1 mega-smash album, Justice, on “Love You Different” among other collaborations together. In 2022, BEAM appeared on BEYONCÉ’s GRAMMY® Award-winning, culture-shifting Renaissance on the song “ENERGY,” which took on a new life of its own in 2023 with the viral “mute” challenge. While BEAM continues to alter the DNA of popular music, the Jamaica-born and Florida-raised rapper, singer, and producer continues to work on new solo music, with a project on the horizon soon. |
