George shares the brand new single
‘Paris’ as he steps towards the release of his second EP. Listen
HERE.‘Paris’ is romance personified in song as George’s gorgeous velvet baritone exults the overwhelming intensity of love. The song’s punchy beat provides a modern pop edge, but it doesn’t detract from the timelessness that has become a hallmark of everything George releases. Characteristically classy, the song’s sumptuous string arrangement and intimate guitar / piano interplay all add to the feeling that George crafts songs that will remain relevant for years to come. While George’s songs celebrate the power of love, they’re also grounded enough to realise that there can be an undercurrent of fear that you may lose what you have.
George says, “‘Paris’ is an internal dialogue on the merits of the words ‘I Love You’, with the city of Paris symbolising LOVE as a destination. It starts with bullish will and scepticism, just because you say these words it doesn’t necessarily make them true. It journeys along with my opinion shifting as I realise you are more important to me than any theory and I don’t want to lose you because of it. Please tell me it’s not too late?”
George wrote ‘Paris’ with the song’s producers, the Ivor Novello winner Justin Parker (a key collaborator for Lana Del Rey on hits including ‘Video Games’ and ‘Born To Die’) and Jon Green (James Bay, Maisie Peters). The track was then mixed by the Grammy Award winner Dan Grech-Marguerat (Lana Del Rey, George Ezra, Liam Gallagher).
‘Paris’ will feature on George’s upcoming second EP alongside his recent releases ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ and ‘Man On A Road’. The EP is available to pre-save / pre-add HERE.
George is set to play his biggest London show to date at Omeara on October 25th, and tickets are on sale HERE. George will also play a sold-out London show at St. Pancras Old Church on May 5th.
