New York, NY (August 15, 2025) – Today, boundary-pushing metal group LYLVC release their latest single, “Barely Human”. Emerging from the ruins of civilization, the song envisions a world where survivors of an apocalypse trade parts of themselves in exchange for survival, only to end up “barely human” by the end.

The accompanying visual is a scene straight out of a sci-fi movie. Backdropped against an end-times wasteland, dual vocalists Alyse Zavala and Oscar Romero prepare to face off in a vicious steel-plated battle. Indio Falconer Downey stands guard for Alyse, equipped with a space-age arsenal as he prepares to face the enemy.

Touching on the themes within the song, lead vocalist Alyse Zavala shares “I think this is my favorite song right now. The verses quickly paint this picture of a post-apocalyptic world where a virus has spread so far that it’s left nothing but a void of pain, fear, and uncertainty for the future of humankind. The survivors have had to replace their lost limbs with robotic limbs, or a lost eye with a robotic eye.  We are all ‘Barely Human’ now and forced to choose sides between going full AI robot and turning off all our empathy, or holding onto what’s left of our humanity/emotions. Sometimes I personally struggle with turning off my emotions and I dissociate when I need to be strong or cold in order to survive.”

Available via Judge & Jury Records, founded by producer Howard Benson and Three Days Grace’s Neil Sanderson, “Barely Human” was recorded at Howard Benson’s West Valley Studios with Mike Plotnikoff and Joe Rickard who have collectively produced artists such as Three Days Grace, My Chemical Romance, Seether, Halestorm, Papa Roach, and more.

In addition, LYLVC will be hitting the road on a US tour later this summer with SalivaEarshot, and The Founder featuring Austin John Winkler before heading out on tour with Stitched Up Heart for a handful of dates in December. For all upcoming LYLVC live shows, visit: https://lylvc.com/events.
