Fast-rising UK band Forlorn call upon the element of Water with new track ‘Keeper Of The Well’, the fourth single from the Folk Horror quintet’s alchemic debut album ‘Aether’.

Beneath ambient, post-metal instrumental layers and haunting vocals lies a stark message; “Water is a vital part of human existence”, shares Forlorn vocalist Megan Jenkins. “With the power to heal, renew and nourish, yet we curse ourselves and the creatures within by not respecting it. We must do more to honour and care for our sacred wells, rivers, lakes and oceans.”

Aether, the debut album from Forlorn, due out on March 28, 2025 via Church Road Records, embodies a sound unfamiliar to many. Since their inception the Southern UK band have blended expressionist art, crushing soundscapes and paganism to carve out their own brand of innovative ‘Folk Horror’ and Aether, takes that to a whole new level.

Through, Aether, Forlorn pay their respects to the ‘elements’, acting as part of a Progressive Metal pagan ritual. Living in a day and age where music is produced to the grid, Forlorn knew long before creating Aether that they envisioned a sonic bombardment, with the help of producer, Sam Bloor (Graphic Nature, Black Coast, Dream State), that very initial thought became reality and the result is a crushing soundscape that’s soaked in energy and authentic destruction. The juxtaposition of ethereal vocals, with chaotic drums and crushing low-level guitars, paired with vocalist Megan Jenkins brutal screams, bring together Forlorn’s unique sound and visual identity.
