FOLLOWING THE SIGNS release new EP ‘EVOLVE‘ on 20th March, new single ‘Break The Frame’ out now.

Irish nu-metalcore contenders Following The Signs return with renewed purpose as they announce their new EP ‘EVOLVE‘, set for release on March 20th. Leading the release is their explosive new single ‘Break The Frame’, available now alongside an official music video.

Following the defiant charge of previous single ‘Call To Rise’, ‘Break The Frame’ pushes the band’s message deeper—confronting restriction, expectation, and the unseen structures that confine identity and ambition. The track calls on listeners to reject imposed limitations and carve their own path, regardless of opposition.

Formed in Cork in 2018, the five-piece have built a reputation for combining groove-heavy nu-metal influences with the precision and aggression of modern metalcore. ‘Break The Frame’ captures the full weight of the band’s evolved sound, delivering pummeling riffs, thunderous breakdowns, and soaring yet abrasive vocal dynamics, all anchored by sharpened atmosphere and control. It’s direct, urgent, and unflinching.

Commenting on the single, the band explains:
“Break the frame is written with the idea of living in a simulation connected to a machine, the mainframe. The story is written about waking up from the mainframe due to a glitch. Upon waking you realise the simulated world is not what it seems, so you fight to break free from the mainframe to live in the real world.

‘Break The Frame’ plays a pivotal role in the conceptual arc of ‘EVOLVE‘, a five-track statement exploring survival, resistance, societal pressure, and transformation in an increasingly fractured world. Where ‘Call To Rise’ stood as a rallying cry against oppression, ‘Break The Frame’ turns inward—challenging the psychological and structural barriers that prevent growth and change.

Expanding on the EP itself, the band adds:
‘EVOLVE’ is a massive step into a new direction for the band. This process really made us push the boundaries of what we sound like. This EP shows a new side of the band, taking a more melodic approach in certain elements of our sound. With the addition of our new vocalist, we have a more well-rounded sound, which forced us to experiment with new tones and elements.
‘Evolve’ proves that under pressure, the band continues to adapt and overcome whatever is thrown at us. The EP has five songs, each acting as a new chapter, showcasing the band’s versatility and willingness to add new flavours into the mix
.”

The forthcoming release marks the band’s most cohesive and focused body of work to date. Following the impact of their debut album Conflictions and singles such as Birthright and Stand Tall, ‘EVOLVE‘  represents a significant step forward both sonically and conceptually, refining their identity while boldly expanding their creative scope.

Recent live performances in Warsaw and Kraków, the band’s largest international shows to date, have further highlighted their growing momentum beyond Ireland, cementing their reputation as one of the country’s most exciting rising heavy acts.

With ‘Break The Frame’ out now and  ‘EVOLVE‘ arriving March 20th, Following The Signs continue to establish themselves at the forefront of Ireland’s heavy music scene—delivering music that is both ferocious in sound and fearless in message.
