April 12th – Leicester – Firebug – w/Teiger and JJ Lovegrove –
Formed in 2008 and hailing from Leicester, Final Coil deal in post-metal and progressive rock, taking influence from a range of artists including Tool, Alice in Chains, Pink Floyd and Katatonia. The band’s third album, the Russ Russell-produced The World We Inherited, is a stark concept piece influenced by a lengthy discussion with Killing Joke’s Jaz Coleman. Released in January 2024, it has met with considerable acclaim, with recent single ‘Wires‘ included in Classic Rock Presents Prog Magazine’s tracks of the week.
Teiger are a 3-piece from London. With a sound meandering through quiet metal and bright acoustic rock, Teiger create a rich and melancholic atmosphere that’s both fragile and occasionally furious. The band’s self-titled debut met with considerable acclaim and garnered the band airplay on BBC Radio 6, making 2024 the year Teiger make good on the promise of that uniquely engaging record.
JJ Lovegrove is an independent solo artist & winner of Radio Wigwam’s ‘Best Female Artist‘ award in 2023. With stunning live appearances including The Bedford Balham and Glastonbury, expect haunting dark-pop with cinematic soundscapes, which take the listener on a mesmerising after-dark journey.
Imaginary Dreamers play a unique style of alt rock that is at times bold and fragile, yet always dynamic and punchy. Their live set is always full of energy and camaraderie and has the diversity to capture the heart of any rock fan.
The River began life in the catacombs of doom metal but have gradually transformed into something beautiful, reflective and indefinable – to which their recent Cavernous Records album, A Hollow Full Of Hope, bears witness. They performed with Final Coil at the launch show for The World We Inherited and their powerful, emotive set was warmly received.
Fans can expect three magical nights of cinematic soundscapes, post-rock ambience, and coruscating riffs!
