FÉLIX RABIN ANNOUNCES BLUE DAYS EP & SUPPORTING 10 DATE TOUR OF THE UK IN APRIL.
Swiss born French singer-songwriter-guitarist Félix Rabin, who seamlessly blends Euro soul-pop with rock, blues, some funk and even a touch of prog, will release his brand new EP Blue Days on Friday 4th April.
Félix and his band will also be supporting the new EP with a ten date tour of the UK in April (see dates further below).
Blue Days, which includes the shimmering Euro-pop-rock of ‘As She Comes,’ atmospheric ballad ‘Find Me’ and a vibrant, hard-pop arrangement of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing in the Dark’ (all previous singles) help define who Félix Rabin is as a songwriter, singer, and melodically atmospheric player – one with a European sound (2025 will also see him make further inroads on the European circuit) but with British rock & blues sensibilities.
The EP is completed by a beautifully heartfelt, soulful love song titled ‘What You Need’ and a delicate acoustic/ piano-led version of ‘As She Comes.’
Along with Félix’s redoubtable guitar skills (make no mistake, this soft-voiced singer has the six-string muscle to remind of the luminary likes of Mayer, Hendrix and Gilmour, whilst having his own sound, melodic phrasing, and tone) Blue Days also features Francesco Gagna (electric & acoustic guitars), Vincenzo Capodivento (bass) and James Morgan (drums).
There are also notable contributions from Christoph Huele (Hammond) and P. Brunkow (grand piano).
Blue Days also took a lot of long nights to complete, as Félix confirms:
“I thought I would have this EP completed and released in under a year. I was wrong!
This release took many shapes and names before becoming what it is today, but as I started to gather these songs together I realised they had a unifying vibe, one that deeply resonated with me, as I experienced some of the most meaningful and intense moments I’ve yet been through as I approached my thirtieth year.
The results are an EP that is also a little musical book about me in my twenties, and the significance of turning thirty.”
Félix also made music videos for some of the songs, with two of the shooting locations directly leading to the title of the EP, as Félix explains:
“For ‘As She Comes’ I went to Paris; for ‘Find Me’ it was off to California! When making the videos for those songs, the directors and I were always looking to shoot in the ‘blue hours.’
In the process, while trying to capture those special moments, I realized that blue light always triggers nostalgia, memories, and a little melancholy in me – those Blue Days.”
The upcoming tour in support of Blue Days is as significant to Félix as the EP…
“This tour feels like a milestone to me, as it will be my tenth in the UK! From starting out playing London clubs to opening for the likes of classic rock legends Wishbone Ash and Samantha Fish, to my first headline tour, I feel fortunate, and lucky, to be able to continually return to my second home, where I can play to, and meet, my most dedicated fans and audiences.
I’ll be turning thirty just before this tour starts so these dates are the greatest Birthday gift I could ask for, playing tracks from Blue Days, and new songs that will appear on my forthcoming debut album.
Thanks to all of you who have supported me since those first gigs, and those who have joined me along the way. I hope to see you all in April so I can celebrate this continuing journey with you all!”
