[Los Angeles, CA | November 4, 2022] Today, artist / actress on the rise Emma Zander releases her delicate cover of Papa Roach’s chart-topping single “Last Resort” via New Noize Records distributed by ADA Worldwide. With the help of producer Kayhan Azadi, Zander makes the hard-hitting tune her own, offering a melancholic and stripped-back take that completely transforms the song. When asked about putting her spin on “Last Resort”, Zander shared, “The mark of a great song is that it stands the test of time — and ‘Last Resort’ means as much to me today as when it first came out in 2000. The idea of this iconic song from a woman’s perspective is so badass to me. I dove deep into the emotion and lyrics and came out with a whole new appreciation for the rock anthem.” The reimagined track from the celebrated rock bands 5X-Platinum album INFEST was immediately appreciated by Papa Roach, who subsequently offered to release it through their own label, New Noize Records. The signing marks the first since 2001, when the label inked Alien Ant Farm, and their subsequent multi-platinum album ‘Anthology’ which included the inescapable cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal”, a #1 hit on both the Billboard Alternative and Billboard Modern Rock Songs chart. The song has also nabbed the LA-based artist a placement in one of the most talked-about indie feature films of the fall. Audiences will be delighted to hear Zander’s “Last Resort” cover featured in the Sci-Fi Comedy flick I’m Totally Fine, directed by Brandon Dermer, produced by Kyle Newacheck (What We Do in The Shadows, Workaholics, Murder Mystery), and starring Natalie Morales, Harvey Guillen, and Jillian Bell.
