A project that seamlessly flows from expansive to intimate, from poetic to conversational, often in a single song, Singing for fun exhibits the full range of one of pop’s most exciting new songwriters while platforming Eilish Constance’s deft ability to harness far flung emotions into her output, guiding the listener through all-too-relatable experiences through the lens of unconventional, ingenious songcraft. After self-producing acclaimed early projects using a free iPad app and teaching herself how to use production software, Singing for fun also marks the first time that Eilish Constance has welcomed other producers into her world, with the likes of Tommy English (Carly Rae Jepsen/Kacey Musgraves), Tommy Fleece, Alex Craig (After/Coco & Clair Clair) and apob (Dora Jar/Rachel Chinouriri) adding their own brushstrokes to the sonic portrait of Eilish’s internal monologue. Opening with lightly joyful electronic alt-pop of ‘Superstar’, Eilish allows the listener into her dreams from the outset with a blasé confidence towards her ambitions that’s instantly infectious. ‘Hold my hand hunter’’s playful take on the traditional pop structure belies the track’s take on struggling to find common ground with a loved one. The avant-garde folktronica of ‘1 plus 1’ gives way to the dynamic wall-of-sound of ‘Tethered’. Eilish Constance experiments with higher tempos on ‘BB Gun’; employing sample chops and glitch-laden melodics before the whimsical waltz of ‘Chew and swallow’ draws the curtain on Eilish Constance’s guided tour of a fascinating world of her own design. With Singing for fun, Eilish Constance is fully unveiling her prowess as an artist that exists with a clear and unique creative vision while traversing the mainstream without compromise. Taking place at Oblivion on July 8th, the show will be the first chance to catch the EP in its final form and in its entirety, marking the live genesis of one of 2026’s most exciting burgeoning talents.
