Dethwish Announces New Album “Ruby” Out 10/31

DETHWISH, a 26-year-old nu-metal x hyperpunk artist hailing from Connecticut and who traffics in the same scene as bands like Symposia and Cheem, has rapidly gained recognition for high-energy live performances and innovative soundscapes. The music is as gnarly as it is nihilistic, but it’s delivered with purpose and the kind of earworm hooks that take up real estate in your brain for days at a time.

Ruby is essentially an extension of Dethwish’s debut album, The Disappearing Act, which arrived this past spring.

Two albums in one year? Yes, Dethwish is that prolific and that good.

Dethwish has also shared Ruby‘s first single — “One of Us Is the Killer.” Listen to the song here.

The track is a post-apocalyptic, neo-emocore rager that could cause pits to erupt in basement shows, VFW halls, or on the grounds at top-tier festivals.

“Ruby is an album about losing a friend, yourself, and a girl from New Jersey on the early internet,” Dethwish states.

Regarding the new track, Dethwish says, “I’ve never been more excited to release a song, not only is it some of my best work, but i’m also so excited to have a feature from some of my best friends in the CT scene — Montclair.”

Dethwish, who has share the stage with notable acts such as Wargasm, Cheem, Flatwounds, Lip Critic,and MKultra thus far, is currently planning a fall tour. It will culminate in a record release show in his native Connecticut on November 28. He will also soon open for DAMAGE and Sheer Terror. also recently performed at heat.wavfest in West Hartford.
