Deep Purple: Out Now, ‘Rapture of the Deep’ — Newly Remixed, Remastered

OUT NOW!
DEEP PURPLE’S FORGOTTEN MASTERPIECE
‘RAPTURE OF THE DEEP’ CELEBRATES 20 YEARS WITH A NEW MIX AND UNRELEASED TRACKS
IS THIS DEEP PURPLES UNFAIRLY FORGOTTEN ALBUM? ‘RAPTURE OF THE DEEP’ MARKS 20 YEARS WITH A STUNNING REMIX AND UNRELEASED TRACKS

20 years ago, Rapture of the Deep was recorded in just five weeks and without a label. Deep Purple’s 18th studio album has always been considered something of an insider’s gem, yet it often remained in the shadow of the band’s biggest classics. In hindsight, however, it marked a turning point: from this uncertain moment grew the creative force that would later lead to four consecutive No. 1 albums (2013, 2017, 2020, 2024).

Today, the album is rediscovered: remixed and remastered under the personal supervision of Roger Glover, analogue-mastered at Hamburg’s renowned Chameleon Studios, and presented with striking new artwork.

“It’s a new album now to me,” says Glover.

The anniversary edition also includes a bonus CD/LP with previously unreleased studio sessions from 2005 – rare recordings that document the songwriting and rehearsal process. Among the highlights is the never-before-heard instrumental “Closing Note” by Steve Morse, available exclusively on CD and vinyl.

Rapture of the Deep is out today, August 29, 2025, in the following formats:

2CD Digipak
3LP Black (180g, Gatefold)
Limited 3LP Transparent Sky-Blue (Gatefold)

DigitalWith Rapture of the Deep, an unfairly overlooked chapter of Deep Purple’s history is finally brought into the spotlight – more powerful, more vivid, and more relevant than ever. Listen now and experience it for yourself!
