DCxPC Live Announces The Ratchet Boys Live LP, with Proceeds Benefitting Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

DCxPC Live have announced that they will release The Ratchet Boys live LP on September 23rd and have released a single (see The Bad Copy premiere).

Listen/Post: “Montoya”

Originally released in 2001 and now available for the first time on vinyl. DCXPCX presents….The Ratchet Boys Live.  The Ratchet Boys were integral to the DMV ska and punk all-ages scene. Combining a working class aesthetic/DIY punk attitude with a live show and showmanship with no others.  The band was notorious for throwing out donuts during the set.  The Ratchet Boys were important for uniting the DC ska scene by booking a number of key shows at an indoor Soccer Arena named the Corner Kick in the suburbs of DC. This record is a collection of live tracks from 2000. The Ratchet Boys worked harder than anyone to ensure that local talent was showcased as often as possible. They were heroes of the scene.  The scene lost Dan Hess, the singer for the Ratchet Boys, in 2007 from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. All proceeds for this album, to be released on September 23rd, will be going to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to honor Dan’s memory.

About DCxPC:

When the pandemic hit DCxPC Live, originally a show promoter, had several shows get cancelled with dope bands like the Koffin Kats and Field Day. Struggling with how to handle the shuttering of live music, they decided to try their first livestream. They booked their own band (Call In Dead) and some friends of theirs that happened to be old students of DCxPC’s Scott Pasch’s. Their thought was that if it sucked, at least they’d be hanging with friends. Well it did not suck! With the help of Joshua Dobbs of Danger Room Recording Services, the show went off better than expected and the live tracks sounded sick! So sick that they were soon released and started the series off with a bang.

DCxPC Live would only release live albums. They designed their covers as an homage to the classic 1990’s VML Live Series that were core to Pasch’s misspent youth.
