UNVEILS VULNERABLE AND CONFESSIONAL
KEVIN THRASHER-PRODUCED EP BUTTERFLIES
BUTTERFLIES EP RELEASE TOUR
KICKS OFF JULY 25TH IN LOS ANGELES
LOS ANGELES, CA – July 22, 2022 – Songwriter and performer DANNY GOO has unveiled his sophomore EP Butterflies via Atoned Music. The album was produced by Kevin Thrasher (Avril Lavigne, Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker) and includes collaborations with Daniel Wonacott (Finch), Rich Zahniser (The Hippos), and Lil Lotus.
The title track “Butterflies” is currently featured on Spotify-curated playlists All New Punk and All New Rock as well as Apple Music’s New In Rock playlist. In addition, his most relatable, accessible and memorable song “Cut My Hair” is hovering on Fresh Finds Rock on Spotify.
His Butterflies EP Release Tour will be kicking off on Monday, July 25th at The Love Song in Los Angeles, CA with support from Astrophobia and rosecoloredworld. The convoy will then make its way to Goo’s home state of Texas and conclude in Oklahoma City on August 2nd (dates below).
“This EP is just me and my whole life story; moments in my life that I remember vividly and that affect me a lot,” explains Danny Goo. “Most of it is relationship stuff – I’m a very, passionate, in-love kind of guy.”
Goo’s trademark heart-worn Gen Z love songs are all the more impactful on Butterflies thanks to Thrasher’s guitar-oriented touch and collabs with Lil Lotus, Zahniser, and Wonacott. It’s a lineup that reflects an inclusive, genre-blending sound that embraces emocore and emo rap, 2000s pop-punk, classic R&B melodies, and unashamed pop sensibilities, all enhanced with innate charisma and utterly here-and-now production.
Butterflies continues Goo’s vulnerable, confessional exploration of young love and loss. Distorted guitars and propulsive beats juxtaposed against auto-tuned melodicism and huge, optimistic hooks to create something both intimate and otherworldly, escapist yet super-relatable.

Following a recent move with co-creator/producer JoJo Centineo from their native Dallas to Los Angeles and attracting heavy-hitter producer Kevin Thrasher (Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne), Goo is perfectly poised for the next level – and beyond. “I’ve learned so much from moving out of my hometown,” Goo vows. “I have amazing scenery and tons of influence all around me. I’ve been able to collaborate with more people and the sessions are more challenging which forced me to apply myself to becoming a better writer. Overall, it made me a stronger person and a better musician because now I know what it takes.”
