It is a monumental year for Japanese metalcore band CRYSTAL LAKE as they proudly release their long‑awaited new studio album The Weight of Sound, available now worldwide via Century Media Records. Packed with eleven tracks, the album captures the quintet at their most dynamic, innovative, and emotionally charged. It is also the first studio album since John Robert Centorrino took over vocals for the band back in 2023.

With five tracks having guest performances by various artists, including David Simonich (Signs Of The Swarm), Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Myke Terry (Volumes), Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer) and Karl Schubach (Misery Signals), the band pushes their typical soundscape further than ever before, balancing razor‑sharp metalcore, crushing deathcore elements, atmospheric electronics, and immersive melodic passages. The result is the band’s most ambitious and wide‑ranging record to date. The album release comes with the band’s new music video to their focus track ‘Everblack’ (feat. David Simonich).

Guitarist and founder YD shares about the album:
“This record is a crossover masterpiece, infused with the years of experience and the attitude we’ve forged together. It’s a convergence of diverse styles that defines the present-day CRYSTAL LAKE. We invite you to immerse yourselves in our ever-evolving world.”

Vocalist John adds: ”This whole new album is about the ups and downs of my life. The most personal I’ve ever been on a record. A lot of the lyrics reference each other. I wouldn’t call it conceptual, but it’s definitely a poetic diary-esque journey into my life. I cried writing 80% of these songs. I died a little bit again with each word. As I wrote, I relived. This is the real me. The story of a man you love to hate. Enjoy.”

CRYSTAL LAKE will be joining forces with American metalcore band Miss May I for a co-headline tour during early spring 2026 in Europe and the UK. The tour will also feature Great American Ghost and Diesect as special guests. With a total of twenty-one stops, the tour will cover The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, France, and the UK.
